These events in the region take place on Wednesday, unless otherwise noted:
Amesbury: Parade at 10 a.m. from the Fire Department headquarters to the middle school grounds for a ceremony. Rain location is City Hall.
Beverly: Ceremony at 11 a.m. at the veterans memorials in Odell Park on Rantoul Street.
Boxford: The Boxford American Legion will host the town’s first Veterans Day ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at Melvin Green in East Boxford.
Burlington: Officials will lay wreaths in honor of the town’s four veterans service organizations at 9 a.m. on the town common. The main ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.
Chelmsford: Annual observance at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on North Road. The event will include a wreath laying, speakers, and music.
Chelsea: Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray will be in Chelsea for the city’s annual ceremony at 1 p.m. at the Senior Center.
Danvers: Ceremony and wreath laying at 11 a.m. at the Senior Center, 25 Stone St.
Dracut: Ceremony at 8 a.m. at the veterans monument on Broadway Road. Rain location is the Dracut American Legion, also on Broadway Road.
Everett: Ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Everett Connolly Center/Armory on Chelsea Street. A veteran from each war from World War II to the second Gulf War will be honored.
Georgetown: Ceremonies at 11 a.m. at Harry Murch Park on East Main Street, where a new all-services memorial will be dedicated.
Gloucester: Ceremony at 9 a.m. at the Gloucester High School field house followed by a parade to American Legion Square for a wreath laying.
Groveland: Services at 10:30 a.m. on the front green of Town Hall, 183 Main St.
Hamilton: 10:30 a.m. silent march from Town Hall to Hamilton Cemetery, with ceremony at 11 a.m.
Haverhill: Parade at 10:30 a.m. from the VFW on Kenoza Avenue. Participants will march to the Global Peace Monument on Ginty Boulevard for a ceremony.
Ipswich: Veterans gather at 10:30 a.m. at the town’s war memorial and march to the VFW.
Lowell: Lowell Veterans Council breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by a service at 10 a.m. at the Centralville Social Club, 364 W. Sixth St. On Tuesday, Butler Middle School students will hold a ceremony open to all veterans at 10:30 a.m.
Lynn: Ceremony at 11 a.m. at Lynn Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 3 City Hall Square.
Lynnfield: Observance at 11 a.m. at Lynnfield Common.
Malden: Memorial service in front of the American Legion, 368 Pleasant St., at 9 a.m. Parade steps off at 10 a.m. and proceeds from Pleasant Street to Malden Government Center. The fire alarm will be sounded at 11 a.m. to commemorate the end of World War I.
Manchester: Ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at the Legion Hall, 14 Church St.
Marblehead: Service at 10:30 a.m. at Abbot Hall Auditorium on Washington Street. The names of Marblehead veterans who have died since last Veterans Day will be read.
Medford: Tomorrow, Medford veterans who served in different wars and in peace time will talk with students at Medford High School.
Melrose: Ceremonies at several memorials beginning at 9:30 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., a dedication will be held on Crystal Street for Air Force Lieutenant David P. McMurray. McMurray, a Melrose native and former Crystal Street resident, was identified at a World War II crash site discovered by a group of German citizens in 2001. An awards presentation will be held for Robert McVoy, a Melrose firefighter and Marine who recently served in Iraq, at 11:30 a.m. in Memorial Hall.
Merrimac: Veterans luncheon and ceremony will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Merrimac Senior Center, 100 East Main St.
Methuen: Parade at 10 a.m. at the American Legion Post on Route 28. It will proceed to Walnut Grove Cemetery on Grove Street, where a service will be held. A second service will be held at noon at Elmwood Cemetery on North Lowell Street.
Middleton: Ceremony at 11 a.m. at Middleton Square in front of the Flint Public Library. Rain location is the American Legion Post, 69 River St.
Nahant: Ceremony and wreath laying at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park across from the Coast Guard station.
Newburyport: Celebration will begin at 10:15 a.m. in front of the
North Andover: Parade at 10:15 a.m. begins at the corner of First and Main streets and goes to Patriots Memorial Park for a ceremony where selectmen will present welcome-home certificates to North Andover soldiers who have returned from Iraq.
North Reading: Ceremony at 11 a.m. at the town common.
Reading: Ceremony at 11 a.m. on the common. Poems will be read by Joshua Eaton Elementary School students.
Revere: VFW Mottolo Post ceremony and buffet dinner today from 4 to 10 p.m. at the post. Cost is $20 at the door. Proceeds benefit the veterans committee and will be used for scholarships and other programs.
Salem: Thaddeus Buczko, a World War II and Korean War veteran and former state auditor and probate judge, will speak at an 11 a.m. ceremony in Salem High School’s auditorium.
Somerville: Ceremony at 10 a.m. at the George Dilboy VFW Post, 371 Summer St.
Stoneham: Ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on the town common culminating with the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner’’ at 11:11 a.m.
Tewksbury: Veterans will visit local nursing homes before assembling on the town common, 1009 Main St., at 11 a.m. for the town’s annual services.
Tyngsborough: American Legion Post 247 ceremony at 11 a.m. at the post, 90 Pawtucket Blvd.
Wakefield: Services at 11 a.m. in Galvin Middle School’s auditorium, 525 Main St.
Wenham: Wreath laying at 10:15 a.m. at Cheeseman Field. At 10:30 a.m., veterans will march from Hull Street to the Grapevine Road overpass of Route 128 for an 11 a.m. ceremony.
Westford: Nineteen street markers for veterans killed in action will be dedicated at a 9 a.m. ceremony. The annual ceremony will follow at 11 a.m. Both will take place on the town common. Rain location is the Center Fire Station
Wilmington: Ceremony at 11 a.m. on the common across from Wilmington High School.
Winchester: Parade at 10:15 a.m. Participants will march to the town’s war memorials and conclude at the new Veterans Memorial at Town Hall. Wreaths will be laid at the World War I Memorial and Town Hall.
Woburn: Parade at 10 a.m. from Central Square, down Main Street to the common for a ceremony where three new or refurbished monuments will be dedicated.
