In Kingston, officials are shutting down municipal parks and ball fields, and shooing swimmers off of Gray’s Beach as soon as the sun goes down, in reaction to heightened warnings of mosquitoes carrying the dangerous Eastern equine encephalitis virus. In Mattapoisett, they are taking restrictions a step farther, making beaches, parks, and playing fields off-limits by 6 p.m., before dusk. (Full article: 850 words)
