SALEM — Postcards announcing the advent of Salem State University have been mailed to tens of thousands of alumni. Dozens of signs must be replaced, from the one at the main entrance on Route 114 to highway exits on Route 128. Until then, banners proclaiming the new name are draped across buildings.
