The Avon Coalition for Every Student organization is sponsoring a discussion for parents on the topic of binge drinking at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Avon High School. “It’s a real concern at local colleges and universities,” said the school’s principal, Sharon Hansen. “It’s all about keeping kids safe when they go off to college.” She said a lieutenant from the campus police at Bridgewater State University and Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Rowe from the Norfolk DA’s office will speak. Avon High recently graduated 41 seniors, with 83 percent lined up for postsecondary education, she said. “We hope even though the kids have graduated, the parents will come out,” she said.
