The Advocates for Rockland, Abington, Weymouth and Hingham will hold an informational meeting on June 29 to discuss environmental issues at the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station. The group has been following the redevelopment of the shuttered military facility closely, and two years ago won a $50,000 grant from the US Environmental Protection Agency to hire consultants to review contamination and cleanup efforts at the base. At next week’s meeting, the group will review an independent report on contamination issues and then talk about Whitman’s Pond and Weymouth’s drinking water supply. The meeting will be held from 7 to 8:45 p.m. in the Jones Room of the Tufts Library, 46 Broad St. in Weymouth. Refreshments will be served. — Emily Sweeney
