Hingham officials approved the bid from Vareika Construction of West Bridgewater for the roof replacement of Bare Cove Park Fire Museum, funded by money from the Community Preservation Act. The $132,700 job will be the second phase of the project. Phase One, consisting of the removal and abatement of the existing asbestos roof, went out to bid separately and will cost $36,432. This next phase will be completed before winter, town officials said. Officials were pleased about the progress, especially because the total cost fell well below the appropriated amount of $250,000.
