Jean Kelly, who had been Hanson’s part-time assistant town accountant for six years, was named part-time assistant town clerk. Gina Sheridan was named to fill the assistant town accountant’s position. Both Kelly, a Hanson resident, and Sheridan, a Hanover resident, began work in their new jobs last Wednesday. Kelly also works as a circulation associate at the town library, a job she has held for 12 years. Town Administrator Rene Read appointed Kelly on the recommendation of Town Clerk Elizabeth Sloan, and appointed Sheridan on the recommendation of Town Accountant Meg LaMay. The assistant town clerk’s job had been vacant since Sloan, who had held the position, became town clerk in May 2010. - John Laidler
