A local group that supports women diagnosed with breast cancer is inviting residents to join in a community event to raise awareness about the disease. The Tanner Ta Ta Foundation is holding its second annual Light the Common Pink gathering at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 on the Woburn Common. To mark the occasion, the streetlights around the common will have pink light bulbs, and the program will feature speakers and musical entertainment. Officially established three years ago, the nonprofit foundation raises money to assist local women and families who are dealing with breast cancer, according to Michelle Amari, one of the group’s founders. The help can include providing families with gas cards and money for parking, cooking meals, or cleaning their homes. For more details, go to www.tannertatas.org. - John Laidler ![]()
