Vote for the best oyster

The Oyster Challenge fund-raiser, a blind tasting in which participants will vote for their favorite oyster, will take place at the Charlie Horse restaurant at 99 Main St., Kingston today from noon to 5 p.m. The challenge pits the Island Creek oysters from Duxbury against the Rocky Nook oysters from Kingston. The winner will get bragging rights. The event will raise funds to benefit the Island Creek Oysters Foundation, which provides expertise and labor to build sustainable aquaculture systems in impoverished communities worldwide. The foundation recently helped a project in Haiti set up a tilapia fish farm to help local residents. Admission to the challenge is $5.
