Swartz elected to school board

Larry Swartz, a former chairman of both the Wenham Board of Selectmen and Finance and Advisory Committee, was recently selected to fill a Wenham vacancy on the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School Committee. The appointment was jointly made by the School Committee and the Wenham Board of Selectmen, and the vote for Swartz was 6-5 over another former Board of Selectmen member, Harriet Davis. Swartz will fill the position vacated earlier this year by longtime member Donald Gallant until the May election. Along with Roger Kuebel, Swartz is the second former Wenham Finance Committee chairman on the School Committee. - David Rattigan
