Erin Byers Murray, author of “Shucked: Life on a New England Oyster Farm,” will speak at Westwinds Bookshop, 35 Depot St., on Saturday at 5 p.m. Two years ago, Byers Murray gave up her job as a food and lifestyle editor to farm oysters at Island Creek Oysters in Duxbury. Her book on the experience takes an in-depth look at oyster farming, from the oysters’ starting point as delicate seeds to their role on extravagant menus.
