The Friends of the Burlington Public Library are holding their fall book sale Oct. 28 to 30 at the library, 22 Sears St.

Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit, which raises money to support programs and services at the library.

The Friends’ annual book sales - one in spring and one in fall - are among the group’s biggest fund-raisers. Books for sale include some from the library’s collection and donations. Hours are noon to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 28, 10:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 29, and 1:15 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 30. On Oct. 28, children in Halloween costumes or adults in a Halloween or fall hat will get a free book. On Oct. 30, patrons are invited to fill a brown paper bag and pay what they wish (with a $3 minimum) or to buy a canvas Friends bag for $10 and fill it for free. Friends members can get a free book for every three they buy.
