SHREWSBURY
The Friends of the Shrewsbury Senior Center group is raising funds to buy a new van for the facility. After nearly 10 years and some $8,000 in repairs, the old van is slated for retirement, according to Alice Johnson, treasurer of the Friends. The new van will be funded, in part, by the organization’s “$10 for 10’’ campaign, which is seeking contributions of at least $10 toward a replacement lift-equipped vehicle. Residents donating $100 or more will be recognized by having their names inscribed on a special plaque to be displayed at the Senior Center. A donation form is available in this month’s issue of the Senior Center newsletter, which is posted online on the Council on Aging page at www.shrewsbury-ma.gov.- James O’Brien ![]()
