Teacher will read from new book

Sean Conway, author and eighth-grade English teacher at Maynard’s Fowler School, will read from his latest book, “The Empty Space Between Stars,” at 7 p.m. Thursday at Maynard Public Library, 77 Nason St. Conway will answer questions and sign copies of his book after the reading. Published in July, Conway’s novel follows its young protagonist’s quest to find her real home, beginning with a visit to see her estranged father. Conway earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, as well as a master’s in creative writing from the University of New Orleans. In addition to teaching in Maynard, he teaches writing at UMass Lowell. Light refreshments will be served during the free event at the library.
