Selectmen are slated to vote on a new recycling- and trash-collection program during their 7 p.m. meeting tomorrow in Town Hall. The proposal calls for every-other-week trash pickup (with a 32-gallon barrel), weekly single-stream recycling (with a 96-gallon barrel), and weekly organic curbside recycling. Currently, as part of a collaboration with neighboring Wenham, the town has weekly trash pickup, every-other-week recycling, and weekly organic curbside recycling offered in some areas. Town Manager Michael Lombardo has estimated that if Hamilton and Wenham approve the changes, they may save “in the neighborhood of $179,000 to $229,000 per year.’’ Wenham’s Board of Selectmen is also evaluating its trash and recycling options. - David Rattigan
