Selectmen have approved a 10-item agenda for a Special Town Meeting scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center, 73 Alden St. The biggest decision facing voters is a request to appropriate $128 million to plan and build a middle school and high school on the Alden Street site of the current middle school. State officials have pledged to reimburse the town at least 44 percent of the cost. Town Meeting voters will also be asked to give the town manager permission to contract with a developer for a solar array to be built on a closed town landfill at 145 Mayflower St. Among the other measures on the agenda are a request for real-time monitoring of airborne radiation from the Pilgrim nuclear power plant in Plymouth, and a $7,700 appropriation to meet a shortfall in the operating budget of the Percy Walker pool. - Robert Knox
