Local TV station receives awards

Peabody Access Telecommunications was selected by the Alliance for Community Media Northeast to receive five of its 2011 awards. PAT was selected to receive the Outstanding Achievement in Public, Education, and Government Access award in its annual budget category, which is $250,000 to $500,000. The award recognizes a station for its overall programming. It also was recognized with first-place prizes for best public service announcement and best program on a local attraction, both in the professional categories; and with two second-place prizes, for arts and theater in the professional category, and student programming in the amateur category. - John Laidler
