The folks at the MIT Endicott House have found a new, greener way of cleaning. The conference center, owned by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, recently began replacing chemical sanitizers and detergents with a solution called hypochlorous acid. In laboratory tests, hypochlorous acid proved more powerful than chlorine bleach, while being harmless in food and humans. So far, the guest rooms, conference rooms, common area, and the kitchen are cleaned using the hypochlorous acid. - Michele Morgan Bolton
