Maylor resigns regional post

Newly appointed town manager Andrew Maylor, currently Swampscott’s town administrator, announced Tuesday he would resign his position as chairman of the Essex Regional Retirement System effective Dec. 1. Maylor’s resignation is a result of a state law that requires the appointee be from outside the retirement system. Because North Andover is a member of the system, Maylor has to resign the chairman’s post prior to commencing employment with the town.
