Fire Chief Albert Beardsley reminds residents that state open-burning regulations prohibit any yard fires at this time of year, regardless of the conditions produced by recent storms. The season for outdoor burning, limited to brush and tree limbs up to 3 feet long, runs from Jan. 15 to May 1; Fire Department permits are required. - David Cogger
