The Plymouth Festival of Cyclo Cross is at Plymouth South High School this weekend. The second day of racing is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 a.m. today, rain or shine. This annual off-road bicycle racing event has been held in Plymouth since 1979. More than 300 cyclists will be competing in races ranging from 10 to 60 minutes long, according to event director Bill Sykes. The event is free for spectators; organizers expect a crowd of 1,000 to attend over the course of the weekend. A free race for children under age 10 will be held at noon today. “All they have to have is a bicycle and a helmet,” said Sykes. Those who want to participate can still register onsite.
