The next session of the ongoing South Shore Locavores series “1621 and Your Authentic Thanksgiving Table” features Kathleen Wall, the Colonial culinarian at Plimoth Plantation. Participants will be able to sample pottage made from turkey and Indian corn, a New England twist on an old English dish that used leftover turkey. At Plimoth Plantation, Wall trains the staff in period cooking techniques and the 17th-century diet, and coordinates the daily cooking in the plantation’s 1627 Village. She also plans public programs, responds to academic inquiries, and writes and lectures extensively. The program takes place Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Beal House, 222 Main St. The South Shore Locavores series is a collaboration of the Kingston Public Library and Edible South Shore magazine. Programs are free, but donations of $5 offset program expenses and supplement the library’s book budget. - Robert Knox![]()
