Adopt a family this Christmas

DOVE (Domestic Violence Ended), which helps victims of domestic violence and provides emergency shelter, announced it will start this year’s Adopt-a-Family program from Dec. 1 to 17. Adopt-a-family provides gifts to families affected by domestic violence, many of whom are struggling in the winter months. Participants will be matched up with families that have developed a “wish list” of basic necessities, as well as fun items for themselves and their children. This year, there are more families than ever looking for support, DOVE personnel said. With more than 100 families served last year, DOVE is hoping even more communities and organizations come forward to support the growing need.
