On Nov. 18 at about 9:30 a.m., police officers and drug-sniffing dogs searched for illegal drugs at Wareham High School, Wareham Middle School, and the Wareham Cooperative Junior/Senior High School. According to police, all of the students were “very cooperative” during the Friday morning search. The K-9 units didn’t find anything at the middle school, but they did track down 14 indications of the presence of marijuana at the high school, and in two vehicles that were parked outside in the high school parking lots. Three high school students were found to be in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. Wareham police Lieutenant Kevin Walsh said the three juveniles will be issued civil citations and could face further disciplinary action from school officials.
