Following a delay prompted by frozen federal funds, the Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operations’ fuel-assistance program is up and running again. Applications are now available at the Senior Center, 98 Maple Ave., and outreach coordinator Walter Rice is again available to assist with filling out the forms, processing recertification, and helping with weatherization requests. To contact the program, call Rice at 508- 841-8647. Additional support for residents in need of electric service for heat, light, and hot water during the winter months comes from SELCO’s Share the Warmth program. Funds to assist with these utilities are dispersed in the spring, based on donations that come from other residents. Donations may be made online via the SELCO page at www.shrewsbury-ma.gov.- James O’Brien
