Funding for firetruck OK’d

Special Town Meeting members approved a warrant article that allots $1.3 million for a new aerial ladder truck for the Fire Department and an article allowing $250,000 to be spent on a concession stand and bathroom facilities at Norwood High School. A nine-member committee of firefighters will begin meeting to discuss various styles and options for the truck, which will be ready for use by the department next summer. Proponents of the concession stand, which will be built near the tennis courts and football field, hope to also raise money through private donations to offset the total cost. - Natalie Feulner
