Winter parking ban in effect

The winter parking ban took effect last week, which means no vehicle can be parked on a public way for more than an hour between 1 and 6 a.m. For those without adequate off-street parking, free temporary parking is available between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. in all municipal lots, and in the police station’s parking lot at 552 Main St.; all public school parking lots; Marion Road at Victory Field; and the parking lot at Boylston and Mt. Auburn streets. In case of snowstorms, cars must be moved from school lots by 6 a.m. to allow plowing, or they will be towed. - Megan McKee
