Children needed for study
Researchers at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center are seeking children ages 8 to 17 to participate in a study to determine how children and adolescents interpret emotions from facial expressions and voice tones. Both typical children and children with autism-spectrum disorders are needed for the study, “Look Who’s Talking!” The testing consists of looking at videos and pictures and then using computer keyboards to respond to questions regarding the clips and images viewed, and requires two to three visits to the Shriver Center, at 200 Trapelo Road on the Fernald Center grounds. IQ and language tests will be administered to all children. Participation is voluntary; participants will receive compensation and small gifts for their time. For more information, contact the research coordinator at 781-642-0276 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Details on the Shriver Center, which operates under the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and its programs are posted on its website, www.umassmed.edu/shriver.
