Fuel assistance

Applications for fuel assistance through the Ichabod Washburn Benevolent Fund are available at the town’s website, www.kingstonmass.org, and at the Kingston Public Library, the Council on Aging, and the town clerk’s office. The Washburn fund distributes money to unmarried women who live in Kingston and need financial assistance. In accordance with the bequest, single or widowed women may apply. For equally deserving applicants, the fund’s trustees give preference to widows. The deadline for applying is Jan. 31 and the money will be distributed in March. - Robert Knox
