Progress on the town’s new main library is about 40 percent complete. But as construction continues, library director Thomas Viti is urging patrons of the current facility next door to use caution in the work zone as bad weather looms. He said patrons should use the High Street sidewalks to enter and leave, because they are safer. “We will not be able to keep the dirt path behind the main library free from snow and ice, and lighting is poor at the back of the building,’’ he said. The new library is expected to be completed by next summer.
