The town hosted a training seminar on public records law last month, and plans another, according to selectmen chairman Frank Hegarty. About 25 people, including Hegarty, attended the two-hour session, which was led by attorney Lori Sullivan of the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Public Records Division. Topics covered included the history and mechanics of public information requests, exemptions and appeals, and the rules around retention of public documents. “With the ever-changing laws pertaining to municipalities, we feel it is important to regularly keep our employees up to speed through these trainings,” Hegarty said. - Johanna Seltz
