School plans night-out event

The Shrewsbury Education Foundation is throwing its second Ladies Night Out fund-raiser on March 29, with shopping, a cash bar, and a cheese-tasting. The event last year raised approximately $1,000, and featured some 20 small businesses selling jewelry, food, and spa-type services, according to coordinator Melanie Petrucci. “We hope to at least double it this year,’’ she said. The evening runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and will be held at the Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in Boylston. The foundation, a nonprofit that gives grants to schools, is still seeking interested vendors.
