What can science reveal about human character and morality? At Coolidge Corner Theatre’s latest Science on Screen installment, Northeastern University social psychologist David DeSteno will introduce a screening of Woody Allen’s 1989 film “Crimes and Misdemeanors’’ by explaining the variability in human morality that leads characters in the film to act in surprising ways. DeSteno directs Northeastern’s Social Emotions Lab, known for its studies of moral behavior and social emotions. He is coauthor of “Out of Character: Surprising Truths about the Liar, Cheat, Sinner (and Saint) Lurking in All of Us.’’ The talk and screening begin at 7 p.m. Details at www.coolidge.org/science.
