Sharon families will pay more for their children to ride the school bus in the fall. The Sharon School Committee voted April 11 to raise the two-way bus fee from $512 to $540, according to Timothy Farmer, superintendent of schools. For students who ride only one way, the fee will rise to $370 from $256, he said. The committee also voted to cut, from four to two, the number of days a week that a late bus will pick up students who stay after school for clubs or activities. Farmer said that with advance notice, vans can be made available for special events. “We just can’t do it every week,’’ he said. - Jennette Barnes
