Next up: next year’s budget

The Board of Aldermen’s appropriations committee Monday will continue its review of a $65 million city operating budget for fiscal 2012, which starts July 1. The committee, which includes all 11 members of the board, will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the aldermen’s chamber at City Hall. The board will hold a public hearing on the budget proposal May 9 at 7:30 p.m., also in the aldermen’s chamber. - Kathy McCabe
