Seventeen bars in the Boston area, including several close to Faneuil Hall, have partnered with the cab-hailing app Hailo to provide $10 discounts to holiday revelers.
It’s the season of eggnog, bubbly, and peppermint schnapps hot chocolate — and along with those wintry treats comes the dilemma of deciding how to get home after indulging in a holiday beverage.
Now, Bostonians have an extra reason to make smart decisions and stay out of the driver’s seat during their holiday revelry. Hailo, the smart phone app that allows people to hail licensed Boston taxis with a few taps of their thumbs, has partnered with Miller Lite and a slew of bars to offer a $10 discount on cab fare.
To garner the bargain, Hailo customers must ask for a discount code from one of 17 bars in the Boston area partnering with Hailo. (And of course all the bars serve Miller Lite. Get it?) Type the code into the Hailo app and voila! Ten dollars zapped from the final price of the ride.
The offer, which is also taking place in New York and Chicago, started Monday and will last through January 5.
“Safety is the most important thing to us at Hailo,” said Justin Raymond, co-president of Hailo North America. “We are thrilled to be working in close collaboration with MillerCoors to ensure our passengers are able to enjoy the holiday season responsibly and without having to worry about getting home.”
