Residents of a 10-unit apartment building in East Boston had to evacuate this morning after a car hit a 2-inch gas line, breaking it in two.
Boston firefighters responded to Brandywyne Drive and Trustman Terrace at 11:35 a.m. and have remained on scene to ventilate the building, said Steve MacDonald, spokesman for Boston Fire Department.
“What we have right now is a lot of different people there. We’re just dealing with getting the gas off,” he said.
