Restaurants reopening in Financial District turn to cyberspace

Some Financial District restaurants re-opening for business after several days without natural gas service are turning to the Web to get the word out.
The PR firm that started the "Financial District Open for Business" blog at fidoboston.blogspot.com says workers in the area are confused about which restaurants are open and which ones are closed, and newly opened restaurants are seeing slower-than-usual business.
"Financial District restaurants depend on loyal lunch and after-work customers to support their businesses," the firm, Solomon McKown & Co., said in a press release. "While some are still closed, others are open and serving great fresh food and need for people to know they are open!"
The company is not charging for blog posts, said the firm's Dianne Falaguerra.
The blog entries show many restaurants are still being forced to serve cold items only today, five days after a water main break ruptured a gas main, flooding the system, and cutting off gas service to much of the Financial District.
