Brookline police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a woman last night as she walked home from the Red Sox game.

Police said the woman, who was drunk, was walking down Winchester Street at around 11:30 when she began talking about the game with a man.

It started as a friendly conversation. But then the man pinned her down on the front steps of house and sexually assaulted her. He dragged her into a nearby grey mid-sized SUV containing three other men. They drove her to Boston where they eventually freed her, police said.

“She was very intoxicated and walking home by herself and it’s not the best thing to do late at night,” said Brookline Police Chief John O'Leary.

After the men freed the woman, she went to a friend’s house where she called police. Though her face was cut from being punched, she refused medical assistance.

The man was described as Hispanic with short, curly hair and a round face. The woman wasn't able to describe the other men.

O’Leary said the most recent sexual assault in the area happened at Boston University a few weeks ago but the suspect descriptions don’t match. He also said there haven’t been any similar crimes in surrounding areas.

Police are going to re-interview the victim to try to gather more information, O’Leary said. They have no suspects at this time.
