Body found in Boston Harbor

A body believed to be that of 59-year-old Quincy court officer Anthony Tufo was found in Boston Harbor this morning, a week after the Coast Guard suspended their search for the man.
Boston police have not positively identified the body, but George Regan, a spokesman for Tufo's family, said it was Tufo and issued a statement on behalf of the family.
“We want to thank the US Coast Guard and police and fire rescue units from Boston, Winthrop, Quincy, and Weymouth for all of their efforts in locating our beloved Tony,” the statement read. “We also want to thank all of our friends and strangers for all of their prayers and support in this incredibly difficult time.”
The Coast Guard began combing the waters looking for Tufo on the evening of July 3 after he fell out of a 34-foot motorboat near Deer Island. His disappearance happened just before a storm swept through the area, complicating search-and-rescue efforts.
A boater in the harbor reported finding a body this morning between Castle Island and Logan Airport, Coast Guard Petty Officer Lauren Jorgensen said.
Tufo was a well-liked and respected officer at Quincy District Court, where he had worked since 1992.
