A 25-year-old man was found murdered in his apartment in Holbrook today, the first slaying in the South Shore town in more than a decade, authorities said today.

The victim was identified as Osahon Ighodaro. Norfolk District Attorney William R. Keating said investigators believe he was murdered sometime Thursday night in the apartment where he is listed as the only tenant.

He said forensic teams from the State Police are still at Ighodaro’s apartment in a large complex on Longmeadow Drive. Keating also said the state medical examiner's office has not yet determined a cause of death.

He said Ighodaro appeared to have been bound by his killer, but he would not provide any specifics.

"We feel this community shouldn't feel unduly threatened,'' Keating said in a telephone interview. ”It has the appearances of a targeted homicide.''

Keating said Ighodaro apparently was a Nigerian immigrant and had been living in the apartment complex for less than a year. He would not disclose who found Ighodaro.

Keating said the last murder in Holbrook took place 11 years ago. "It's an unusual event for Holbrook,'' he said.

My heart felt sympathy to Mr. & Mrs. Ighodaro & family.
I hope they find peace and comfort, knowing that Osahon is with his late paternal grandfather Mr. Emmanuel Ighodaro & Our Heavenly Father.
Osahon was a toddler when I left Lagos Nigeria for the U.S.A. in the mid 80's.
I speak for every member of late Mr. Emmanuel Ighodaro's family (living in the U. S. A.) and myself when I say we all came to U.S.A. in search of a better shot @ life.
It's a shame society nowadays is full of people who have no respect for their lifes let alone that of others.
    Rest in peace my dear.
    Sincerely,
    Itohan Ezomoghene & family.
