Pedestrian killed in downtown Boston accident

A 47-year-old woman was killed this morning when she was hit by a Jeep Cherokee in front of the Taj Boston hotel, Boston Police said.
The woman was struck on Newbury Street near Arlington Street at about 11:30. She was pronounced dead at the scene, said Officer James Kenneally, a police spokesman.
Investigators are on the scene gathering evidence as police try to determine whether any charges will be filed in the accident.
No further details were immediately available.
