1 man stabbed, dies; another man shot in Dorchester

A 20-year-old man died from stab wounds he suffered just after 7 p.m. on Wednesday outside a three decker in Dorchester. The man, whose name was not released, was found at 343 Geneva Ave.
He was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The Police Homicide Unit is investigating.
The stabbing occurred on a residential stretch of Geneva Avenue, not far from Bowdoin Street. The street was quiet this afternoon. On the sidewalk outside the white three decker, a man's name had been scrawled in what looked like red marker.
Also Wednesday, a man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was shot at 8:30 p.m. outside 30 Algonquin St. in Dorchester. The victim, who was not identified, was taken to Boston Medical Center. Police said today he was in critical condition.
