A 23-year-old man was fatally injured early this morning when he ran out in front of a car on Route 24 in Fall River, State Police said.

Edward Codero of Fall River apparently ran in front of a 1988 Toyota Corolla being driven by a 17-year-old male from Rhode Island on the southbound side of the highway near Jefferson Street, State Police said in a statement.

Although the driver of the car attempted to swerve to avoid Codero, the car stuck and killed Codero, police said. Neither the driver nor the two other teenage passengers in the car were injured in the accident, which happened at about 12:14 a.m.

The accident remains under investigation.

  1. I would like to know if he ran in front of the car or if a 17 year old kid, who is not supposed to be on the road after 12am was going to fast to swerve. You should not assume Eddie ran out in front of the car. That implies suicide does it not??????
