A 39-year-old Malden man is in jail after robbing a disabled man with Lou Gehrig’s Disease at the Malden Center MBTA station July 14, authorities said.

Scott A. Marra is being held on $10,000 bail at MBTA Police headquarters after allegedly grabbing the victim’s wallet from his hand as the wheelchair-bound man waited for the elevator, said MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo.

The wallet contained cash, medical ID cards, and a pass for people with disabilities, Pesaturo said.

It also contained a credit card that Marra allegedly used to buy $200 worth of gasoline at a Malden service station. Authorities caught up with Marra after he used the card a second time. He was arrested late Friday.

Transit police are now looking for a second suspect who they say illegally used the victim’s disabilities pass to avoid paying transit fees. The victim was a 39-year-old man from Chelsea, Pesaturo said.

Marra is slated to be arraigned on a robbery charge Monday in Malden District Court.
