More rain, possible thunderstorms keep summer soggy

By Anne Baker, Globe Correspondent
A half inch of rain is expected to soak Boston this morning as a soggy summer continues in Massachusetts. Heavier rain and potential thunderstorms are expected west of the Worcester Hills, where residents have been told to brace for street flooding.
This afternoon, thunderstorms could strike anywhere in the state, said Allan Dunham, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Taunton. Heavy fog may roll in this evening.
The potential for thunderstorm is expected to continue the rest of the week, which may include pockets of severe weather. There is a 50 percent chance of rain Thursday and a 40 percent chance on Friday. People who see lightening or hear thunder should immediately get inside a building or car to prevent injury, Dunham said.
