A 54-year-old Westport woman was killed early this morning in a motorcycle crash in the O'Neill Tunnel in Boston, State Police said.

The woman was driving north on a 2007 Harley Davidson at about 5:42 a.m. when her motorcycle struck the wall on the right side as she took Exit 26 towards Storrow Drive. The collision caused the woman to strike the handrail on top of the wall, police said in a statement.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was being withheld pending notification of her family, police said.

The right lane of the highway at the exit was closed until about 7:30 am. so investigators could examine the crash scene.
