A woman who called Boston police this afternoon saying she was being kidnapped ended up behind bars herself. Police said she had lied to them and had robbed a bank in Dedham earlier in the day.

The suspect, who was not named, called police at 1:19 p.m. to say she was abducted from her car and was being held against her will in the Mission Hill neighborhood. Police traced the cellphone call and found out she was really on Arlington Street in the Hyde Park area.

Boston Police spokesman Eddy Chrispin said police found inconsistencies while questioning the woman and determined she was involved in the robbery. She was turned over to Dedham Police and arrested. Dedham Police didn't immediately have a comment.
