Ten people have been displaced after a fire ravaged a two-and-a-half story house on Brooks Street in East Boston this morning, authorities said.
No injuries were reported, but half of the people affected by the fire required Red Cross assistance, said Steve MacDonald, a Boston Fire Department spokesman. The fire caused $300,000 in damage, he said.
He said that the fire was in the first and second floors of the two-family home when firefighters arrived at the scene scene shortly after 9 a.m.. The fire was caused by an unattended candle.
