A 35-year-old man was shot in the arm this morning a half mile from Dorchester High School, prompting authorities to lock down the school while they searched for suspects.
The man, whose name was not released, was taken to Boston Medical Center and treated for what police described as non-life-threatening injuries. There is no indication that he had any connection to the school.
The shooting occurred at 10 a.m. on Armandine Street. A dozen police cruisers responded to the scene. Police have not reported making any arrests.
